I’m assuming that everyone heard of the phrase “Location is everything”.  In the internet world, this phrase is the truth. Where you are now, at this very moment can define who you are. Whether you like it or not, location has an impact in our everyday life. From where we shop, eat, work and live are all determined by what’s local.

Our online presence is important to be displayed accurately to make sure visitors make out where we are as well as our business when they are searching the web. With this in mind, here are some tips to help you and your business in your SEO and Google Local Optimization success.

Claiming your Listings

Most of the business owners now claim their listings then center their attention on Google Local Optimization, on the other hand if you do a variety of searches for your business via phone number, name and address you will notice duplicate listings. It will be wise to claim those particular listings too.

Make sure you optimized your listing with the exact phone number, name and address. Keep in mind that Google don’t like inconsistency.

Choosing the Right Category

By ensuring this, your business will be accurately displayed in Google Maps. A lot of companies dropped down from their listing because of inaccurate information.

Use Offers and Coupons

Google Local Business has given an option in providing a coupon or offers for your potential customers. Give your customers an easy to use coupon. It doesn’t have to be a deal of a lifetime. But a sure way to get a ranking in Local SEO.

Add Photos

There are many ways to upload your business images in your Google Local listing. But try to follow this steps, this will ensure your SEO approach to be more successful;

  • Change the file name of your images to the keywords you are targeting.
  • Right click on your image then click on properties, now fill out all the details as much as you can.
  • Add Longitude and Latitude for those images. You can get this in Google Earth by getting your exact location.

Add Videos

There are several slots for videos, so make sure you use them all. If you don’t have one, try looking for videos in YouTube with the most views in your area or in your related category. This will be a good chance for you to be seen by Google even if you don’t have any videos about your business.

Add Details

One great thing this option gives you is, even if you can’t find the perfect category for your business. This will always give you a chance to get the specific details on what your business is offering. This is also a good place for your keywords to get placed, but don’t overdo it. Again, try inserting Longitude and Latitude on this area.

Never leave it Blank

When doing Google Local Optimization, you have to be sure to fill it up 100% with the necessary information. Remember, an empty field is always a missed opportunity!
